a visit to Crossroads
today I accompanied Kenridge Church on a outreach in Crossroads (Guguletu), more specifically to Sobambisana – a community project. Crossroads is one of Cape Town’s largest townships. People began to settle there because Langa (Cape Town’s first township) was becoming too crowded. In Crossroads there is a centre looking after young and old as well as children with disabilities. I invited my friend Jandré Robbertze along.
Below I have a few images I think tell the story of this center. A lot of work still has to be done as you will see below. The thing I’ll remember most about this day is the happiness present all over as we made our way through the various sections, especially that encountered among the older people.
